ASL provide an embedded motherboard that is used as part of the operator interface in a CAT scanner. The key factors were continuity of supply, revision control and global availability. (The USA is a large market for the customer and they therefore wanted to be able to source spares locally).

Due to a close relationship with a large manufacturer of industrial motherboards and SBC’s, the relationship provides ASL with direct links to their engineers for support and also first hand information with regard to product changes and improvements.

The MB-E4MTS2B, a 5.25” Intel Pentium 4 motherboard, met all of the technical criteria and together with written assurances from the manufacturer ASL are able to guarantee supply of this board for up to 5 years.
